Arts in education and training is a catalyst to produce and promote positive change.
FUSE TRAINING and EDUCATION

Fuse organise and deliver performance and arts based training and education projects for all ages. Through these activities, we promote and advocate the value and importance of the arts. We aim to develop excellence and to engage diverse audiences, through participation within the arts and as catalysts to produce and promote positive change.
Fuse:
- Delivers training and education at schools, colleges, at Universities and in youth and community settings
- Fuse offers arts, health and wellbeing projects and training linking to the Somerset Pillars of Wellbeing.
- Runs creative, knowledge exchange and action research programmes
- Offers a range of workshops, projects and talks including: outdoor arts, street arts, circus, dramaturgy in public space, production skills, dance and street scenography, celebratory arts, parades, promenades and processions.
- Delivers art and activism workshops at Larmer Trees festival, Bath Spa University, Weston Super-Mare and University of Winchester.
- Runs participatory workshops in environmental arts sculpture & eco arts.
- The company created the first European BA (Hons) Street Arts degree at the University of Winchester
- Co-founded EFETSA (European Federation of Education and Training in Street Arts)
- John Lee, director co-founded the first circus school in the UK- School for Fools, then Fooltime (later to become Circomedia)
- Sally Mann founded Streetlinkz Creative Youth Projects whom have won awards, Somerset Anne Frank Award, Somerset Youth Award and LOCOG 2012
Fuse education and training :
- Arts based training for young people and supporting recovery from the corona virus pandemic supported by Somerset County Council Public Health.
- CPD arts based training for teachers, artists, practitioners working with young people supporting mental health and well being.
- Offers practical and transferable skills
- Training and education that increase employment opportunities
- Delivered Health and wellbeing projects and intergenerational projects funded by the Somerset County Council, Somerset Wildlife Trust, National Health Service, Bridgwater Town Council, Sedgemoor District Council and Somerset West+Taunton Council.
- Creative activities that offer future opportunities and sign post to further education, training, apprenticeships and employment.
- Fuse are a registered award body and can deliver Arts Awards. A national qualification including Discover, Explore, Bronze, Silver and Gold Arts awards.
- Fuse offers outreach wellbeing education and training projects in urban and rural areas offering experiences and opportunities to those who are underrepresented and find it difficult to access the arts.
