River of Light

Fuse worked with the Somerset Wildlife Trust celebrating and reconnecting people with Taunton’s amazing green spaces and the stunning wildlife that lives along the River Tone and its tributaries.

Fuse worked with the Somerset Wildlife Trust 2015- 2017 on a three-year project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund celebrating and reconnecting people with Taunton’s amazing green spaces, wild places and the stunning wildlife that lives along the River Tone and its tributaries.

We connected people along the routes to the River Tone and its seven tributaries as well as reaching new participants, involving them with Somerfest. Fuse produced two parades-Somerfest River Parade (2015) and River of Light Finale Parade (2017)  One community wildlife nature walk (2017) and one community event in Hamilton Park (2015)

Fuse artists and events team worked with 18 schools,  570 children, 8 community groups; organised three events Somerfest River of Light, Hamilton Park community event, Blackbrook Walk, reaching over 25,000 people. Fuse produced wildlife walks along the Blackbrook way exploring and discovering routes along the river tone offering wildlife talks and a guided  wildlife walk.

Thank you to everyone that helped make these projects a tremendous success.
