Somerset and Exmoor Coast Festival
The Porlock Marsh Nightwalk is took place, on Saturday Oct 12th 2024- 6.30pm.
The event was postponed due to the predicted poor weather conditions on Sunday 29th Sept with rain and high winds.
This was a FREE event supported by Somerset and Exmoor Coast Festival in association with Somerset Council.
Audiences explored an enchanted night time trail and experienced Porlock Marsh as never seen or heard before.
There was sound sculpture, performance, light sculptures, poetry/spoken word for the Porlock Marsh nighttime experience.
The nightwalk began at 6.30pm from Sparkhayes Camp Site.
Walkers followed the footpath and signs to Porlock Marsh from the campsite.
Things walkers needed to bring on the Nightwalk
A torch to highlight the pathways to and from the village. Please turn them off when experiencing the events – sound art/sculptures/performances
Wear suitable footwear and clothing for all weather.
Pathways have some roots/stones/narrow pathways/bridge/boardwalk. The terrain is mainly flat.
Well behaved dogs are welcome on a lead.

The walk is 1hr to 1.5hours but do take your time to linger a while.
This event is open to all ages and levels.
Children must be accompanied by an adult who will be responsible for them at all times.
This is not a guided walk but there will be stewards along the Marsh area of the walk.
The Nightwalk is a free flow self guided walk. Take your time and linger a while to enjoy, listen and discover Porlock Marsh.
